has been accepted for fiscal sponsorship by the
New York Foundation for the Arts
to produce a
documentary film about the life of his father,
Harry Babasin, and his contributions to west coast jazz.
"Harry Babasin's Jazz In Hollywood" is a sponsored project
of The New York Foundation for The Arts (NYFA). NYFA
is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization founded in 1971 to
work with the arts community to develop and facilitate
programs in all disciplines. NYFA will receive grants on
behalf of "Harry
Babasin's Jazz In Hollywood", ensure
the use of grant funds in accordance with the grant
agreements, and will provide program or
financial reports as required.

a television
show in the Los Angeles area hosted
by jazz historian/professor, Chet Hanley.
Produced on
the campus of CSU, Dominguez Hills,
it's a live show, broadcasting every Tuesday night,
9:00 pm to 10:30 pm, during the school semester.
Locally, it
airs on Time-Warner Cable,
channel 36, the Los Angeles Channel, LACH.

'Jazz In Hollywood' has just received it's official
I.R.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit designation and will soon start writing
grant
proposals to raise the funds necessary to build our visions.
This site will
chronicle the creation of the internet home of west coast jazz.
With archives of over 500 hours of true Hollywood jazz, performed
by
many of its innovators, spanning four decades of Jazz In Hollywood,
we will present an authentic, musical history of west coast jazz.
We will also
create an audio and video broadcast facility for streaming
live contemporary jazz, from a musically historical building in
the heart
of Hollywood. As we work toward building a full digital broadcast
facility,
featuring the finest jazzers in the contemporary west coast scene.
